READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
So with that said…
Beatles Solo LP HTF STILL SEALED Ringo Starr Beaucoups of Blues Apple 1970
Okay, not a very good album.
After all, what Beatles fan wanted a country album by an ex-Beatle, and what country fan wanted an album by an ex-Beatle? By all counts, Ringo’s second solo album was a mistake, especially after the disaster of his debut solo album of standards that he recorded for his mum.
But that’s exactly what makes this title so hard to find still sealed, which isn’t that green Capitol reissue.
(Why did they even re-release that?)
Vinyl--- NM Sealed.
Plates--- NM Sealed.
Cover--- 99% still sealed. Promo hole in the upper right-hand corner. There’s a one-inch split at the bottom center seam in the shrinkwrap only, but not in the cover. Shrinkwrap is slightly dirty. There’s a very long scuff across the front cover, but only on the shrink. The cover itself is perfectly immune.
Breathe Holes--- There are two breathe holes down the left-hand side of the cover.
Labels--- NM Sealed.
Inner Sleeve--- NM Sealed.
(By the way, the best track from these sessions was inexplicably left off the album. If you’ve not heard the B-side to the title single, you owe it to yourself to head over to YouTube, and check out Ringo’s self-penned “Coochy-Coochy.” It’s really fun. Had he released it as the A-side, it would have at least charted. Somewhere at the bottom…)
CAUTION! There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids. A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
