BEATLES LP - UK MONO SGT PEPPER WITH RARE MISPRESSED "GHOST SLEEVE"
This is the 1967 UK Mono 1st pressing Black/Yellow Parlophone label with Gramophone rim and "sold in UK text" It comes with the original red and white inner, gatefold sleeve and card insert - Therefore this item is original 1st issue and complete. Matrix number on the run off groove on side one is XEX 637-1 and side two is XEX 638-1.
The record is in great condition with only a few light surface marks, nothing serious.
The sleeve is a rare mispress and there is no known evidence of another like it. It appears that the printing plate slipped during the pressing process by at least 5mm. The sleeve therefore appears to have a wide spine, but it actually continues onto the back of the sleeve.
The main difference however is the ghost effect that surrounds the photo of the 4 Beatles on the back of the sleeve. Parlophone were very careful not to let mispresses like this enter the market place, which means this is an extemely rare item and could actually be the only copy in existance. A fantastic addition to any Beatles Collection - Not to be missed.
