1967 UK 1st *MONO* PRESSING LP
**W I D E SPINE COVER**
Early copies of this LP were housed in covers with thick, square spines measuring 8mms across, double the regular/later width.
This copy is a 100% complete first pressing with red & white designed inner-sleeve and an untouched cut-out sheet.
This rare first mono pressing is on the UK black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 7027
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text and 'Gramophone Co. Ltd..' rims.
The 'KT' tax/price code is visible on the side 2 label.
Housed in a fully laminated Garrod & Lofthouse gatefold cover with the 8mm 'wide' spine.
Complete with cut-out sheet and original red & white inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: XEX 637-1 & XEX 638-1
Stamper numbers: 3,7/MRR & 2/MRD
Some light spindle trails around the centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENTClean, bright and glossy surfaces which reveal just a few minor sleeve removal lines directly under a halogen desk lamp.
There are no scuffs or major scratches and the disc lies 100% flat on the turntable with no dishing or warping.
Seldom and carefully played there is very little lessening to the sound quality. Overall it is bright, crisp and clear without groovewear distortion.
There is some light wear on 'She's Leaving Home', however there is no crackle, hiss, clicks, pops, jumps or repeats.
A clean and strong example of this rare cover which displays light handling and storage wear only.
The front panel is bright and clean bearing a few light wrinkles to the edges and spine areas and just one 'thumbnail' crease.
The rear panel is again bright and clean with a few light creases and light disc impression but no major faults.
The upper left corner is slightly bruised but all others and the opening edges are in great sharp and clean condition.
The inside of the gatefold is perfect with no marks or writing and all seams are strong and unsplit.
The wide spine is clean and square bearing just two light creases but no missing paper or laminate.
All the wording is intact and readable (see picture).
Some minor discolouration but no splits or tears.
