Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
RARE mis-labeling, omitting "A Day in the Life"
When Parlophone went to the second pressing, with the all-white inner sleeve, they re-set the labels.... and somebody thought "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band (Reprise)" was the last track!
This error doesn't come up very often, but here's a nice copy!
I have listened to this album on my Linn Axis / Goldring 1042 system and it's not perfect (oh, that it were!).... but it's still pretty good. There's a scratch at the very end of the title track on side 1 which may cause some trouble, but this does play through on my system. There's also a further scratch which looks worse than it is further on in side 1 (pictured).
On side 2 there's a hairline scratch right across the disk, but to be quite honest I didn't actually notice this when I played through!
The sound quality is generally very good, but there's some distortion at some points as you'd expect for a record that's 43 years old! After having listened to SPLCB on my needle-drop for a while, though, it still strikes me as just how good this LP can sound, and this one does. Having said that, I suspect the buyer isn't going to be using this for a listening copy!
So overall, not a perfect copy, but a very fine addition to anyone's collection. The only reason I'm selling it is because I have a superb one already when I lucked into this one :)
