The Beatles
SUPER-SCARCE 1964 UK STEREO PRESSING
of the LP "Please Please Me"
Parlophone PCS 3042
with MID-SIZED "stereo" on the front side!!!! (TEST COVER)
and SCARCE labels: "The Parlophone Co." & "Sold in UK"!!!
<Be sure to add us to your favourites list!>
This LP offered today has a DOUBLE RARITY FACTOR!
1. The record is the really seriously rare 1964-only STEREO (Record Collector: 5th) pressing that has both "The Parlophone Co." AND "Sold in U.K." on its labels. This combination makes it extremely sought after, compared to the versions with "Gramophone" or without "Sold in UK"! These labels were produced in extremely small numbers before the switch to the "Gramophone" wording!
2. The cover is a variation not even (yet) listed in "Record Collector"! The "stereo" on the front side is printed in mid-size, just like on the cover of "A Hard Day's Night"! In fact, it can be concluded that this Please Please Me cover was actually printed for test purposes only in 1964. Only very few have ever turned up!
Condition:
The test(?) cover with the rare medium sized "stereo" is EXCELLENT without any scribbling and just minor wear mostly at the corners. No splits to the spine or seams!
The rare 5th pressing STEREO record with "Sold in UK", "The Parlophone Co." rim and a "KT" tax code on its famous yellow&black Parlophone labels is in fantastic EXCELLENT PLUS condition with mildest surface marks only. The matrix numbers are Side 1: YEX 94-1, 1/RH. Side 2: YEX 95-1, 1/RA.
The labels are NEAR MINT with hardly any sign of usage!
The original "Emitex" inner sleeve is in EXCELLENT condition. (Record will be sent in additional protective inner sleeve, as always!)
I pack very carefully. The buyer pays only the real postage and insurance costs, no "handling fees"! I ship from Germany and will gladly combine shipping if you win several auctions, so you save on postage! Please take a look at my other Beatles auctions!
