SCARCE BLACK AND SILVER PARLOPHONE LABEL, IMMEDIATELY REPLACED THE BLACK AND YELLOW PARLOPHONE LABEL, MEGA RARE TITLE ON RARE **MONO**, BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE, WITH APPLE POSTER.
In 1969, for the FIRST TIME since 1963, PARLOPHONE/EMI re-designed their record labels from the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone to Black and Silver Parlophone, with a ONE EMI BOX logo. This one box logo is printed to the bottom portion of the record label on both sides.
The album was issued as a VERY SMALL BATCH IN MONO with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, encircled ‘P’ date 1967, and ‘Made in Gt Britain’ together with the ONE EMI Box to the bottom of the label. (Please note that the Vinyl weight is the same HEAVY QUALITY to that of the earlier 1967 release. In addition, the machine stamped matrix numbers are the same as for the original 1967 version.
Both record labels are in IMMACULATE NEAR MINT condition. Showing nothing more than a few light centre spider trails.
Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are in STUNNING NEAR MINT condition – GLISTENING Vinyl surfaces – with only a couple of light surface hairlines.
Side 1 Matrix is: XEX 637-1 and side 2: XEX 638-1.
Side 1 stampers: 2 MPG and Side 2: 3/MOL.
The album plays SUPERBLY through ALL the tracks, superb sound quality with NO faults, just perfect
The Vinyl LP comes in a white Made in Gt Britain record bag which is in UNDAMAGED excellent condition, NO seam splits or tearing, just some light creasing.
And also included is a very nice MINT condition, SGT Pepper unused cut-out.
And an original Apple Poster, advertising other Apple Albums which is in MINT condition, showing one horizontal fold.
….And is housed in its ORIGINAL, LAMINATED, GARROD and LOFTHOUSE gatefold Picture Sleeve with TWO internal flip backs, with the same artwork and style as the original 1967 release.
The Original Garrod & Lofthouse Laminated Gatefold Sleeve is in IMPRESSIVE EXCELLENT PLUS condition, a BRIGHT, FIRM, CLEAN sleeve, showing only mild record indentation, and a small laminate crease noticeable on the reverse bottom left corner. The reverse of the sleeve is undamaged, and the inner gatefold of the sleeve is also undamaged, with just a little rubbing to the two flip backs, the spine is perfect and all the wording is clearly readable.
A VERY NICE example of this BRIEFLY ISSUED 1969 **MONO** EMI/PARLOPHONE UK Release, complete with it’s Original **APPLE POSTER** A HARD TO FIND title on this ONE EMI BOX MONO format!
