RESPECTABLE RECORD LABELS AND VINYL DISC, TOTALLY COMPLETE AND 100% ORIGINAL!
Summary:
No doubt, one of the ICONIC albums of the 20th Century, ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ was released by EMI/Parlophone, UK back in 1967. It went straight to Number 1, and dominated the top position in the charts for 23 weeks!
Album Description and Condition:
The FIRST ISSUE STEREO VINYL LP is on the traditional Black & Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd label’ rim, ‘Sold in the UK….’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ printed to both sides of the SUPERB record labels labels.
Side 1 stamped matrix: YEX 637-1 and Side 2: YEX 638-1.
Side 1 stampers: 3/GG and Side 2: 3/GRM.
Both record labels are in IMPRESSIVE excellent plus condition. A LOVELY CLEAN, UNWORN Set of Record labels, with NO handwriting or fading to the bold Yellow or Silver Printed text, and only minimal centre spindle wear and just a few light spider trails to each label.
Both sides of the Vinyl Disc are in STRONG excellent condition, LOVELY, CLEAN, UNWORN Vinyl showing just some light wispy surface hairlines when placed under strong halogen light. In normal daylight these surface hairlines are not visible. There are NO deep scuffs or deep scratches.
Audio Quality:
The album plays EXTREMELY WELL from beginning to end - A CLEAR, STRONG STEREO sound with NO clicks, NO skips, background noise or distortion.
The Vinyl Disc comes in an ORIGINAL, First Issue, Flame Pink and White inner bag printed ‘Made in Great Britain Patents Applied For’ to the bottom corner, which is a RESPECTABLE example. There is NO splitting to the side seams, and just a small 3" split to the bottom seam that has been sellotaped. Handwritten in ink to the top left hand corner of the sleeve is the catalogue number ‘PCS 7027’.
The album comes with an ORIGINAL First Issue CARD Sgt Pepper Cut-Out, which is in SUPERB, UNDAMAGED near mint condition.
…..And is protected in an ORIGINAL First Issue Laminated Garrod & Lofthouse Internal Flip back GATEFOLD Sleeve printed ‘PCS 7027 Stereo’ to the reverse.
The sleeve is in RESPECTABLE excellent minus condition. The sleeve still retains its high GLOSS laminate to the front, inner gatefold and reverse, with NO fading to the DEEP VIVID colors, and only minimal record indentation to the front panel. There are NO seam splits to the top and bottom edges, only mild corner bumps to all four corners, and a small area of paper loss to the bottom left hand corner. The inside of the Gatefold Sleeve is in SUPERB near mint condition, and the two internal fold over flaps are UNDAMAGED. The spine edge is CLEAN and FIRM and clearly reads 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band', with only some light laminate flaking to the spine edge. The reverse panel of the sleeve is IMPRESSIVE, with only the mildest impression where the record has been stored.
An all round RESPECTABLE, 100% ORIGINAL and COMPLETE example of this almost 43 year old ICONIC Beatles UK Album!
