No doubt, one of the most ICONIC albums of the 20th Century, original MONO examples of The Beatles ‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ UK album in FINE and COMPLETE condition are extremely SOUGHT AFTER - in fact they are becoming increasingly HARD TO FIND, especially with the Record Labels and Vinyl Disc in BARELY PLAYED condition like this one.
Album Description:
‘Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ was released by EMI/Parlophone UK in 1967. The NEW LOOKING, FIRST ISSUE MONO VINYL LP is on the traditional Black & Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd label’ rim, ‘Sold in the UK….’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ printed to both of the PRISTINE record labels labels.
Side 1 matrix: XEX 637-1 and Side 2: Matrix: XEX 638-1.
Side 1 stampers are 1/RTA and Side 2: 0/MAP.
The Vinyl Disc comes in an ORIGINAL First Issue Flame Pink and White inner bag printed ‘Made in Great Britain Patents Applied For’ to the bottom corner.
…..And comes with an UNUSED, ORIGINAL First Issue CARD Sgt Pepper Cut-Out.
The album is protected in a VERY GLOSSY, ORIGINAL First Issue Laminated Garrod & Lofthouse Internal Flip back GATEFOLD Sleeve printed ‘PMC 7027 Mono’ to the reverse.
Audio Quality:
Both sides of the LP play SUPERBLY through ALL the tracks - A CLEAR, STRONG mono sound with NO clicks, NO skips or background noise and NO distortion.
Album condition:
Both sides of the WELL CARED FOR Record Labels are in STUNNING near mint condition, A lovely CLEAN, UNDAMAGED Set of Record labels, NO fading to the bold Yellow Print or the Silver Printed text, and nothing more than just a couple of BARELY VISIBLE centre spider trails to either side.
Both sides of the GLEAMING Vinyl Disc are near mint, BARELY PLAYED Vinyl, with nothing more than just a couple of HARDLY VISIBLE, insignificant, wispy surface hairlines, no doubt caused by inserting the record in and out of the inner sleeve.
The Original First Issue FULLY LAMINATED MONO Garrod & Lofthouse Gatefold sleeve is an IMPRESSIVE example in STRONG excellent condition. The sleeve is FIRM and GLOSSY with NO fading to the DEEP VIVID colours. There is NO record indentation to the front panel and only minimal and mild bruising to three of the corners. There are NO seam splits to the FLAT top and bottom edges. The inside of the Gatefold Sleeve is in SUPERB near mint condition, and the two internal fold over flaps UNDAMAGED. The SPINE edge clearly reads 'Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band', showing light laminate flaking/rubbing – nothing serious. The reverse panel of the sleeve is IMPRESSIVE with only the mildest impression where the record has been stored (only visible when tilting the sleeve around in the light and a tiny ‘nick’ to the top left hand side.
The Original First Issue Sgt Pepper Cut-Out is COMPLETE and UNUSED and in near mint condition.
The Original First Issue ‘Made in Gt Britain Patents Applied For’ Flame Coloured Inner Bag is very good plus, with inevitable mild creasing. There is a neat circular record shop stamp to the top left hand corner, seam splits of approximately 1 inch (2.5 cms) to each side, and a 2.5 inch (5 cms) seam split to the bottom edge.
The ALMOST NEW Record Labels and Vinyl Disc are particularly DESIRABLE. An IMPRESSIVE and COMPLETE example of one of THE BEATLES most ICONIC UK Albums!
