Description
THE BEATLES - 'RUBBER SOUL'
1965 UK *1st STEREO* PRESSING LP
**SUPERB, EARLY COPY**
This copy was purchased on day of release and carries a '1/G' side 1 stamper confirming it was one of the first 300 to 500 copies pressed.
This superb 1965 UK 1st STEREO pressing is on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PCS 3075
Both labels include the 'Sold in UK..' text & 'Gramophone Co..' rims.
The 'KT' tax/price code is visible on the side 2 label.
Housed in a thick card, front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed stereo cover.
Complete with its original 'Use Emitex' rice paper lined inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 178-2 & YEX 179-2
Stamper numbers: 1/G & 1/GM
A few small spindle trails but no other wear.
Visual: NEAR MINT
Both surfaces are pristine & totally unmarked on both sides in strong direct daylight and retain their full deep gloss shines with no clouding or dull areas.
Close inspection directly under a halogen desk lamp reveals just a few barely visible wispy inner-sleeve removal hairlines but no other wear whatsoever.
Pressed on thick, heavy vinyl which lies 100% flat on the turntable on both sides with no signs of dishing or warping.
Audio: NEAR MINT
This copy recieved just a few careful plays by its original 'audiophile' owner on a Garrard 401 deck with an SME arm fitted with a Stanton cartridge.
As a result of this, I am happy to report that the sound is 'as new' throughout. Even the easily damaged 'Michelle' plays perfectly.
Both run-ins & all bands play totally silently and without any interference.
Hard to find a better sounding copy.
Cover: EXCELLENT
A very clean & strong with a rich front panel which bears a 16cm scuff line to the laminate but no other significant or major wear.
The right corners have minor bruising and the opening edges display a hint of handling, but no tears or feathering.
The rear panel is clean & bright white with just some toning to the spine, but no further marks or blemishes.
There is a slight lift to a small section of edge of the upper flipback, but all are otherwise undamaged.
Both seams & the spine are unstressed, unsplit & undamaged.
Inner-sleever: EXCELLENT
Light toning & storage creasing, but no splits, tears or writing.
