THE BEATLES - 'RUBBER SOUL'
This outstanding UK 1st MONO pressing dates from initial December 1965 release and is on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1265
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK..' text with 'The Gramophone Co..' worded rim texts.
The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the side 2 label.
Matrix numbers: XEX 579-1 & XEX 580-1
Stamper codes: 5/MH & 2/TA
Disc weight: 162g
Housed in a heavy card, front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed mono cover.
Complete with its original tissue-paper lined 'Use Emitex..' inner-sleeve.

A pristine, unworn set with no more than two or three faint spindle trails around each totally unworn centre hole.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
Both playing surface are extremely clean and retain their 'as new' deep-gloss shine, showing only some harmless inner-sleeve removal marks when viewed in strong daylight. Close examination directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp does little more than highlight these minor blemishes but uncovers no further markings or wear. Both sides of this heavy early copy lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT +
This fine disc has clearly received very little play as it's previous, original owner only played it a few times to tape and then stored it away. The unique sound of this -1/-1 cutting shines through with a power missing from later more subdued cuttings. My single careful play-check at volume detected slight groovewear on the introduction to 'Drive My Car' but this distraction occurred nowhere else. In fact, apart from a touch of background on the delicate 'Michelle', there is very little to fault on this fine sounding, well looked-after disc.
Cover: EXCELLENT +
A superb strong, heavy and clean example which retains an immaculate unscratched high-gloss front panel laminate bearing only a single faint 'thumbnail' wrinkle. There are tiny shelfwear rubs the lower corners and a minor bruising to the upper two but no sign of wear to either opening edge. The rear panel is pristine and 'as new' with no blemishes or wear of any kind. All flipbacks are clean & fully intact and both seams and the spine are all smooth, unstressed and unworn.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT +
Clean & crisp with just slight age-toning but no writing, tears or seam splits.
