Cover
The cover is in outstanding condition, indeed it is almost mint. It is certainly the best I've seen. Normally these flipback covers are rather tatty and faded: not this one. The front is glossy and free from all but the most insignificant of creases. There is a tiny amount of wear in places at the opening but the edges are still crisp and unfeathered and the wear is not at all obvious. The corners again only have the very lightest of wear and the spine retains its original shape. The back is exceptionally clean. often the white back has faded over time to become a creamy colour: again, not in this copy. The back is as it was on the day of purchase clean and brilliant white (see photos)
Labels
The labels are excellent. There are some spindle marks on both sides but far fewer than is typical of this lp. There is no writing and no tears etc on the labels
Vinyl: visual
Visually the vinyl is very good. Under a very bright light there are a number of surface marks on both sides and a couple of heavier looking marks on side 2. I say heavier looking rather than heavier because although you can see them (but not feel them) they are almost impossible to hear. You have to listen extremely carefully between tracks to notice them at all. The vinyl retains its deep gloss shine and is completely free from deep scratches pops, clicks and jumps.
Vinyl: listening
The sound on this lp is excellent. As already stated the visible marks make no contribution to the sound. The sound is fantastic throughout. Play tested on my Project Debut turntable the sound is rich and involving with no discernable distortion even on the last tracks. There is no crackle even between tracks and no clicks or pops. Lovely!
This lp will not suit an absolute perfectionist. There are visible marks so the lp cannot be called mint. The sound, however, is amazing. One would believe that the lp were flawless just from listening to it. That, allied to the best quality cover of this lp that I have ever seen, make this one for the true collector.
