LOUD CUT

This Lp was released on the 3rd of December 1965 and stayed at the number 1 position for a total of 9 weeks from Christmas that year....What a pressie to unwrap!

This is the rarer recording as these records were pulled from the shelf almost immediately after being dispatched...they were then taken and destroyed, replacing them with the 2nd pressing.

Catalogue number: PMC 1267

Matrix Numbers Side 1: XEX 579-4
Matrix Numbers Side 2: XEX 580-1
1ST PRESS deleted TRANSITIONAL pressing 'LOUD CUT'

Mothers/Stampers Side 1: RRL @ 3 O'clock  412 @ 9 O'clock
Mothers/Stampers Side 2: LP @ 3 O'clock  2 @ 9 O'clock

(In my opinion, these above mothers and stampers show Parlophone trying to do some damage limitation, as the pressing with the -1 matrix for side one, was audibly incorrect, more so than on the side two tracks-It was especially audible on My Michelle. So, I think Parlophone kept some pressings with the second side unchanged from the original Mother-thus explaining the low mother on side 2, but they went and pressed a whole new batch of side 1 Mothers-explained by the unusually hight mother number above.)
VERY FEW OF THESE TRANSITIONAL PRESSES EXIST, AND MOST NOT IN AS GOOD CONDITION AS THE ONE HERE!

Vinyl: EX-. Lovely shine and weight. There are just light marks. I have just played the Lp through and the LOUD CUT affect is clearly auidible and sounds really RAW.. Only a tiny, TINY amount of background crackle, which I am sure will be either reduced or disappear alltogether with a good clean as if it's just the crackle of dust, she really is overal, lovely and quiet.
Flat as the day she was born.
Shiny as the day she was born too.
Quality heavy-weight best of British vinyl!

Labels: VG+. There are quite a few spindle marks, visible when angled to the light, as well as a degree of wear to the central hole. Raised "KT" tax code to side 1. No writing anywhere. "The Gramophone Co..." rim text as well as "Sold In U.K." text.
Please see the detailed images.

Cover: VG+.
ERNEST J DAY COVER
No splits or writing anywhere! A few half crescent spidering areas to the gloriously glossy cover as well as a few 'fingers' from the edges.
 Excellent, uncrushed spine.
A tiny bumped top left corner and very light rubbing to another, whilst  two of the corners remain gorgeously sharp.
The back is lightly discoloured and a couple of staines near the top (again, please see the images)

Strong Ernest J Day flipbacks all in almost superb condition!
*As a note about the Ernest J Day cover-These are a lot more rare than their counterpart Garrod & Lofthouse to a ratio of around 10:1!

Inner:  EX-. ORIGINAL 'Use Emitex' inner. One small split to the side of 4.5cm, other than that, just light creasing and slight discoulouration due to age.

All in all THIS IS A COLLECTORS PIECE. Grab it with both hands.
YES, you can find the Loud Cut -1/-1 pressings for around £100, but not very many of these transitional pressings with 1 side being the Loud Cut and the other being the re-mixed side!
Ad the sound reproduction is one of the best I have come across for this album.
MAGICAL!

I am afraid I am starting this at a price I think is very reasonable for such a rare collectors piece in great condition....I think it is worth considerably more.

A note on grading:
'Mint' means I have just stepped out of the record shop in the 60's, never opened nor played the record and kept it in fantasticaly dry and warm condtitons...unlikely isn't it!!
