PARLOGRAM AUCTIONS presents...
THE BEATLES - 'REVOLVER'
This early '2nd' pressing dates from August 1966 release on the black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 7009
Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK...' text and have 'The Gramophone Co...' rims.
Track 4 on the side 2 label is spelt as 'Doctor Robert'.
Matrices: XEX 605-2 & XEX 606-2
Stamper codes: 1/RHM & 1/RPA
Vinyl weight: 155g
Housed in a superb front laminated, tri-flipback 'Ernest J. Day' printed mono cover.
Complete with its original plain white 'Patents Applied For' inner-sleeve.
CONDITION
Labels: EXCELLENT
Both are clean & bright with a moderate collection of light spindle trails around each centre hole..
Visual: VERY GOOD +
Clean deep-gloss playing surfaces which bear a handful of noticeable surface marks on each side, none of which are deep or feelable. Some additional wispy paper-type hairlines are visible directly beneath halogen light.
Audio: EXCELLENT -
This copy has been played a number of times but the sound is clean & clear throughout with no crackle or groovewear on any track. Our play-check revealed a few light ticks on 'I'm Only Sleeping', 'Yellow Submarine' and several on 'I Want to Tell You'. However, this is overall a respectable sounding copy and worth it for the cover alone.
Cover: EXCELLENT +
A truly 1st class example of this scarce cover with a pristine white front panel bearing just a few light edge wrinkles and super sharp, unworn corners and opening edges. The rear panel is clean & black where it should be with just a faint bend to the upper left but no ringwear, writing or missing paper. All of the distinctive wider flipbacks are in perfect shape, as are both seams and the fully worded spine.
Inner-sleeve: EXCELLENT
Light storage wrinkles only.
