Description

The Beatles - Revolver

I am pleased to offer for sale this exceptional, 'final upgrade' copy of the Beatles' seventh studio album, Revolver.
The vinyl is a UK stereo first pressing and is presented on the sought-after Yellow and Black Parlophone label.

Serial number: PCS 7070
Matrix number: YEX 605 - 1 / YEX 606 - 1
Stamper codes: 1 GP / 1 GP
Vinyl Weight: 170g
The matrix numbers identify the record as a true UK first pressing. The mother & stampers codes suggest that the record was produced very early in the production cycle. Consequently, the audio reproduction is simply fantastic. Take a listen for yourself below!
The sleeve is the original front-side laminated Garrod & Lofthouse flip-back sleeve which has a solid stereo aural signifier on the front coverThe sleeve is the first variant which incorrectly lists track 4 on side 2 as 'Dr. Robert'. This was later corrected to read 'Doctor Robert'.
The labels are the first variant in which the title of track 4 side 2 is incorrectly printed as: 'Dr. Robert'.
The album is complete with the original EMI 'patents pending' inner sleeve.
Condition:
The condition report provided below is given as a guide only. I include high-quality, comprehensive photographs as well as a complete audio recording in my listings to enable you to make an informed decision on the condition of this record yourself.
Vinyl: MINT -
Labels: MINT -
The labels are bright, clean and without writing. Only one or two spindle marks are visible.
Visual: EXCELLENT
The vinyl retains immaculate deep-gloss playing surfaces which are blemish free in bright daylight. Underneath a halogen desk lamp only a handful of wispy hairline can be seen alongside an iridescent rainbow shine. A great example.
Sound Quality: MINT -
Please note: the eBay app does not facilitate playback. Please use the internet site to enjoy the audio clips.
Side 1:

Side 2

As can be heard from the recordings, this copy has seen minimal play. There is no sign of groove or play wear. There are quiet lead-ins to both sides. It is quiet in between songs. There is great channel separation, clear vocals and a punchy bass. It would be very difficult to find a copy better than this.
Sleeve: MINT -
The sleeve looks superb! The front is bright and clean. The laminate retains the original lustre. The cover art is vibrant. The rear is clean without any sign of discolouration or damage to flip-backs. All four corners are crisp and sharp. The opening and top and bottom edges along with the square spine are all without any wear.
Inner Sleeve: EXCELLENT
The original inner sleeve is in great condition. There is the unavoidable signs of subtle ring wear.

Additional Details:
Before the audio test was performed the vinyl was cleaned first by an Okki Nokki vacuum cleaner (using L'art du Son cleaning solution) and then an Audio Desk ultrasonic cleaner.
After cleaning, the vinyl is housed inside a brand new mobile fidelity anti-static inner sleeve.
The vinyl will be packaged outside of the sleeve, both of which are stored inside an archival quality polypropylene outer sleeve.
The record will be sent via an insured courier in a padded vinyl mailer.
