If you are looking at this then you’ll know how rare it is!

Here are the play condition and grading details, as accurate as I can be, after a careful track by track play check, and there are 12 photos carefully covering all minor issues and details spoken of in the grading.

The record: it has the usual multiple faint hair- lining and light surface marks from being taken in and out of the coarse paper inner sleeve, but there's no skipping, and there's a good shine to the vinyl which weighs 167 grams. There are minor visible light scratches on side 1, and side 2, but as previously mentioned they do not result in skipping, just pops or clicks as they are passed. There is of course some very light crackle present, as on all vinyl, especially of this age, which is variable from track to track, but the audio sound is still very full and nice to listen to. It has been play graded track by track on a Technics SL1600, and some tracks would grade as VG+, and the rest as VG, so my overall grade for the vinyl is VG as I prefer to under grade.  The record is now stored out of its original “patent applied for” paper sleeve, and in an anti-static Nagoaka plastic sleeve, to preserve both items.

There is some light center hole wear to both sides. The Dr. Robert credit is on side 2 of course. Please see photos. Side one has Green Shield Stamp on it for some unknown reason.  If you aren’t English you won’t know what these are, but if you are then you’ll know that it came with the era of the record. It may come off with patience and a solvent like lighter fuel. I decided to leave it on as it’s of its time, and bought back happy memories of full books of the stamps being exchanged for domestic goods at the Green Shield Stamps shop. The stamp might even be worth something these days! Just joking…

The Sleeve: Graded as VG+

Front laminated flip back with Dr Robert credit for side two. Made by Garrod and Lofthouse. Good straight condition with no laminate loss. Some minor small creasing on the left side near the spine. Corners mildly rounded off and a light crease bottom right corner. There is some faint ringing on the black areas on the back. Please see the photos.

The inner sleeve is VG  This is the original “Patents Applied For” plain white inner sleeve that came with the LP. It is browned with age and has no seam splits, just thumbing and folds at the top entrance point. Usually lost, this one survived probably only because the record stayed with one owner from new till it got to me! Once they hit secondhand record shops they are written on, filed, swapped over, misplaced…

Records are graded according to the official Record Collector grading guide below.

MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
