THE BEATLES - 'REVOLVER'
This rare 1st MONO pressing of 'Revolver' dates from initial August 1966 release and features the alternate 'remix 11' take of 'Tomorrow Never Knows', which is unavailable on any other pressing or format.

The disc bears the familiar yellow & black Parlophone labels: PMC 7009

Both include the 'Sold in UK...' text & 'Gramophone Co..' rims.

The 'KT' purchase tax code is present in the centre of the side 1 label.

Matrix numbers: XEX 605-2 & XEX 606-1

Stamper codes: 1/RG & 3/RH

Vinyl weight: 163g

The disc is housed within a front laminated, tri-flipback cover with a small solid 'mono' front indicator.

The cover is the scarcer 'Ernest J. Day & Co. Ltd.' printed cover.

Complete with its original 'Patents Applied For' inner-sleeve.

A clean & bright pair with numerous light spindle trails around each centre hole but no major signs of wear.

Visual: VERY GOOD

Both playing surfaces are clean and bright with no dulling from overplay or poor storage conditions. There are however numerous light marks and hairlines on both sides - of only one, measuring 2cms partially covering tracks 4 & 5 on side 1, is 'feelable'. Closer inspection beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals general light marks consistent with frequent play, but no further major blemishes or wear.

Sound Quality: VERY GOOD +

Although this copy has been played many times, the sound quality remains very respectable throughout. In fact, my careful play-check at volume found no evidence of any groove/play wear distortion on any track. The aforementioned scratch produced some moderate 'pops' noticeable on 'Here, There & Everywhere', but that really is the only significant audible distraction on this rare LP.

Cover: EXCELLENT

A strong firm and white example which retains a bright, clean & gloss front panel with no 'thumbnails' or any other wear of note. All corners are sharp and square and there is no damage to either opening edge. The rear panel has a small stain on Paul's arm but is otherwise free from any major wear. All flipbacks are in-place with just a tiny piece of missing laminate to the upper one - which is a manufacturing fault which I have encountered on other covers of this LP.

Both seams and the spine are smooth, unstressed and completely unworn.

Inner-sleeve: VERY GOOD +

Clean & flat with some light handling wear and faint disc impression, but no writing, tears or splits to any seam.
