Description
The Beatles - Rubber Soul, 2nd UK Press, Parlophone, PMC 1267, Mono. 1966.
2nd pressing with -5/-5 matrix endings from 1966 cut to address the recall of the -1/-1 1st pressings that were causing some record players to skip. This cut went through several revisions to arrive at what is considered the best sounding original press. Black label with yellow logo and silver print. 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd' printed at the start perimeter print and 'Sold in U.K.' text. Tracing-paper-lined 'Use Emitex' die-cut inner sleeve. With or without KT tax code on the label. Matrix numbers: Side 1: XEX 579-5; Side 2: XEX 580-5.

CONDITION:
The Disc
In good natural light the record exhibits a superb 'factory-fresh' gloss and immaculately clean appearance, devoid of any marks or blemishes. When scrutinised under focused halogen light, no further marks are visible! The disc sits completely flat on the turntable with no warping or dishing. A superb example, NEAR MINT! A fantastic listening experience. Super-quiet lead-ins and between tracks. No crackle. No loud obtrusive pops, no clicks, and clearly no skips or sticks in this condition, NEAR MINT!
The Sleeve
The sleeve is in impeccable condition, glossy clean front with no ring wear, fully readable spine without wear and clean matte back. Incredible condition for a cover of this age. It looks like it hasn't seen the light of day for the past 60 years!
The Inner
Original EMITEX tracing paper lined inner sleeve. No splits, rips or stains, and lining is fully intact.
