RARE MONO FIRST PRESSING, WITH ALTERNATE VERSION OF TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS, SIDE 2 MATRIX XEX 606-1, BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE, WITH GARROD & LOFTHOUSE Ltd Patents Pending Sleeve.
The Beatles ‘Revolver’ album - considered one of most Iconic and Collectible Albums of the 20th Century - was released by Parlophone UK on the 5th August 1966. This Album continues to be very collectible around the World today, this is a beautiful example of the Rare First Pressing MONO Variant LP, with the side 2 matrix of **XEX 606-1**, containing the ALTERNATE VERSION of Tomorrow Never Knows.
Album Description and Condition:
This original 1966 UK MONO, FIRST PRESSING Parlophone Vinyl LP is on the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, with ‘Sold in UK…..’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ label text.
Both record labels are in undamaged Excellent Plus condition, clean labels with clear unfaded silver and yellow text, showing a few centre spindle lines.
Side one of the Heavyweight Vinyl Disc is in superb Excellent Plus condition, a beautiful vinyl surface showing only a couple of light surface hairlines.
Side two of the Heavyweight Vinyl Disc is in very nice Excellent condition, again a very clean vinyl surface showing only a couple more light surface hairlines than side one, there are no deep scratches or any scuffs on either side.
Having played the album, it play’s with strong powerful sound quality, there is very mild background hiss mostly between the tracks, there are no skips, just a light click for 10 seconds on the intro of Good Day Sunshine.
Side 1 matrix: XEX 605-2 and Side 2 XEX 606-1.
Side 1 stampers: 1 RP and Side 2: 2AG.
There is an embossed ‘KT’ tax/price code visible to the centre of the side 2 record label.
The album comes in it’s ORIGINAL plain white inner bag which is in undamaged condition, there is no handwriting, tearing or seam splits.
The Vinyl LP is housed in an ORIGINAL, Front LAMINATED, FIRST ISSUE, Garrod & Lofthouse Ltd, sleeve, printed ‘mono’ to the top right hand corner.
The Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve is in Excellent Plus condition. The front laminated panel still retains its gloss shine showing only the very mildest of disc indentation, all edges are undamaged with only mild bruising to two corners, the black, back panel is clean and undamaged, showing only mild record indentation, and a couple of light handling signs, all three flipbacks and the spine edge are undamaged.
This is an all round impressive example of this iconic Beatles UK First Pressing Revolver album, and one the better examples to have come into stock for a long time.
