RARE MONO FIRST PRESSING, WITH ALTERNATE VERSION OF TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS, SIDE 2 MATRIX XEX 606-1, RESPECTABLE EXAMPLE, WITH E.J.Day Ltd London sleeve.

The Beatles ‘REVOLVER’ album - considered one of most ICONIC and COLLECTIBLE Albums of the 20th Century - was released by Parlophone UK on the 5th August 1966. EXTREMELY SOUGHT AFTER by Collectors around the World today, this is a RESPECTABLE example of the RARE FIRST ISSUE MONO VARIANT LP, with the side 2 matrix of **XEX 606-1**, containing the ALTERNATE VERSION of TOMORROW NEVER KNOWS.

Album Description and Condition:

The ORIGINAL 1966 UK MONO, FIRST ISSUE Parlophone Vinyl LP is on the traditional Black and Yellow Parlophone Label, with ‘The Gramophone Co Ltd’ label rim, with ‘Sold in UK…..’ and ‘Made in Gt. Britain’ label text.

Both record labels are in very nice Excellent condition, both labels show several light centre spindle lines.

Both sides of the HEAVYWEIGHT Vinyl Disc are in Very Good condition, showing a few light surface scratches, and surface hairlines, also small scuffs on side two. ( see scan)

Having played the album, there is light back ground crackle through the tracks, a click at the end of Taxman, also a click at the start of Good Day Sunshine, there are NO skips to any of the tracks. Considering the surface wear and the light scuffs, the album plays very well, still retaining the powerful Mono sound quality.

Side 1 matrix: XEX 605-2 and Side 2 XEX 606-1.
Side 1 stampers: 1A and Side 2: 3 RL.
There is an embossed ‘KT’ tax/price code visible to the centre of the side 1 record label.

The album comes in it’s ORIGINAL plain white Made in Gt Britain inner bag which is in UNDAMAGED condition, There is NO handwriting or seam splitting, just some creasing, and age yellowing.

The Vinyl LP is housed in it’s ORIGINAL, Front LAMINATED, FIRST ISSUE, E.J.Day Ltd London sleeve, printed ‘mono’ to the top right hand corner.

The E.J. Day sleeve is in very nice Excellent Minus condition. The front laminated panel still retains its deep gloss finish, with only very mild corner bruising to each corner, the back panel is clean and undamaged, with light rubbing to the black area. All three flipbacks are in tact. The spine edge and other two edges are undamaged, overall this is a very respectable first issue Revolver sleeve.

Although not in top condition, this album with the side two matrix of XEX 606-1 continues to be a favourite among Beatles collectors, an all round nice example of this ICONIC RARE Variant Beatles UK FIRST ISSUE Album, now in it’s 46th year since the original release back in August 1966.
