Lack of space has forced me to sell my vinyl collection from way back when...

(Thanks for sticking with this protracted event, play-grading my old vinyls takes forever.)

Revolver is one of the great rock achievements and arguably The Beatles best, studio album.

It is the seventh album release by The Beatles and features their first electric guitar tracks.

The psychedelic Tomorrow Never Knows, is a technological master stroke.

The album gained a certain notoriety for the lyrics of its Doctor Robert track...

Revolver was recorded at Abbey Road during April-June 1966, released August 1966.

The album was an instant hit and stayed at number one in the UK, for seven weeks.

This copy is an original vinyl disc, in original glazed/matte outer & white paper inner, covers.

This is an essential classic collection of Beatles, mono sounds!

LABEL – CATALOGUE REFS – VINYL – Grade: Exc.

Parlophone yellow/black/silver – PMC 7009 – Disc weight is good at 149 grams.

AUDIO – Grade: Exc.

Play-graded ace! All tracks played through fine after a cursory, carbon brush clean. There were a few, static clicks but nothing excessive – not bad on the first play in about 35 years! A further clean and second play was much improved.

DISC VISUAL – Grade Exc.

There are wispy hairlines and light, paper scuffs on both sides but the disc retains its deep glossy, black vinyl sheen. Side #2 has an inaudible surface graze from the middle of Track #4 to Track #7.

The labels are clean and without any markings or writing.

The spindle hole has a few edge scuffs but is still firm on the spindle.

PACKAGING – Grade Exc.

The laminated glossy front/matte back, “Garrod and Lofthouse” photo/etching cover, is intact. It has storage creases and is slightly scuffed along the loading edge and bottom corners. There are no splits.

The spine edge titling is clearly legible along the full length.

The inner sleeve, stamped “PATENT Nos. 11 255 55” and “MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN”, is showing some discolouring due to age but is clean and intact. There is light scuffing along the loading edge.

GRADING

I tend to be conservative in my grading. The grading system I have used is loosely based on UK record mags as follows:–

MINT

Un-played item. The vinyl is in brand new condition, no surface marks or deterioration in audio quality. The cover is pristine.

EXCELLENT (Exc)

The vinyl is shiny, with few signs of having been played but with no appreciable lessening of audio quality. The packaging and extras may have negligible wear.

VERY GOOD PLUS (VG+)

The vinyl is still be shiny but may have a few light marks, with very little lessening of audio quality. Light wear and tear on the packaging or extra items.

VERY GOOD (VG)

The vinyl has been played many times, is still shiny and displays no major deterioration in audio quality. There are noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches. Normal wear and tear on the packaging or extra items.

GOOD (G)

The vinyl has been played to such an extent that audio quality has deteriorated noticeably, there are mild scratches. The packaging or extra items, suffer from folding and scuffing of edges, with spine splits.

FAIR (F)

The vinyl is no longer shiny and has been played so much that the audio quality has deteriorated very noticeably. The packaging or extra items, suffer from severe folding and scuffing of edges, with spine splits.

HANDLING

I use white, cotton gloves when handling discs and packaging.

I've added this because a bit late in the day, I've just noticed some of the competion's "Revolver", erhm whiter-than-white-driven-snow, I don't think so cover photos.

Unless they've been kept in a sealed environment for the past 44 years, then the cover's ain't gonna be that "colour" white...
