CONDITION-
SLEEVE: VG
front- Rarer 'small Mono' sleeve. Very clean, shiny and well looked after. Barely any ringwear to speak of. No fading and lovely virtually unblemished spine. A few opening marks but overall very presentable.
back- Back cover is clean with no writing or damage to the flipbacks. There is ageing but despite this it's still remarkably clean and well kept copy, see pics.
VINYL: VG
Beautiful jet black sheen on thick quality vinyl. Both sides of the record have some needle marks and one or two small feelable scratches which are relatively unobtrusive and do not affect the audio (see audio section below). Under strong halogen lamp light this record shows moderate sleeve removal marks but again, none which detract from the sound quality of the record.
Overall, a clean and bright record which shows no unsightly deep scratches.
LABELS: VG
This record has been carefully played by its owner. No names or stains are present and there is just a little whitening around the spindle whole. The stylish 1960's Parlophone label is bold, clean and the silver font clear with just a little fading to the yellow lettering on side one.
AUDIO- EX
The lovely depth of well kept 1960's thick quality vinyl throughout.
Side one is beautifully clear and virtually free from crackle in between tracks and on quieter numbers 'Anna' and 'Ask Me Why', just John's beautifully warm voice with those brilliant harmonies. No distortion on louder tracks 'I Saw Her Standing There' and (the much better in Mono) 'Please Please Me', just a rocking lead guitar from George and Paul's ever punchy bass.
Side two is similar. All parts clear, separated and undistorted. Highlights of 'Love Me Do' and the show-stopping 'Twist and Shout' sound a dream. Silent into and during the quieter "Baby's It's You' and 'Do You Want To Know A Secret'. All parts warm and rich.
Overall- no distortion throughout and absolutely no pops, clicks, sticks or jumps. Virtually non-existent crackle between tracks. The perfect playing copy of the album The Beatles made just before they were about to change the world.
