(as part of the German Collection Box Set) 6th   1979, Apple 1C 072-04 219   General Description   Not even a week after the German »Please Please Me«-"Version" had been published (»Die zentrale Tanzschaffe der weltberühmten Vier aus Liverpool«, HoerZu Electrola HZE 117, mono, SHZE 117, stereo - it came with a different cover but the same track listing, and I'll list a nice copy of this release soon, too -), a special version was released with the original cover for retail sale at Army stores of American & British allied forces only, in order to satisfy the demand of the huge number of soldiers deployed all over (West) Germany and West Berlin at the time being.
Still, for a short period, namely thru end of March 1964, this record could also be bought directly from Odeon by mail order. Moreover, it had been exported to Switzerland.

This pressing is very rare. It's one of the few German releases that to get hold on is hard even in Germany. Moreover, on the few chances to win one on fairs or auctions it is a tough mission to acquire something that is at least in a "very good condition". The record up for auction here is a very nice copy that earns an overall grading of EX, rangining between EX- and EX+. Please see grading details and refer to the photos I provide at the end of listing.   Aesthetics: I am a Collector, hence every record is stored (and will be sent) in a sophisticated way. Original cover, inner sleeve, prospective inserts, and/or whatever may come across, are stored separated. The vinyl sits in a neutral antistatic, padded inner sleeve, which is housed in a stable, neutral hard cover. For 1st pressings I use black, everything else goes to white ones. All together, it is protected by one (or more) transparent plastic sleeves. When sending out, this package goes to a brand-new professional record mailer.   Important: There's several options that are not changeable thru eBay's posting API. So, please, refer to photos provided later herein, and send a mail in question.
Short overview: Cover is definitely in an excellent condition. Front glossy shiny, no marks, tears, nothing, EX+. Back hasn't any marks or tears either, but some light shadows, the beige isn't hundred percent anymore, and a slight sign of ring wear at its bottom (I think the third picture from top shows a perfect snapshot of the cover's back's condition), hence EX.
Labels do not show any writings, tears, or spots, they're clean. Still, there's two very small parts on the golden ring where the gold is a lill darker, both labels, plus a lill rubbed right at the spindle hole, hence EX only.
The original Odeon b/w Pictures inner sleeve is in almost perfect condition. Small cut on side where the circular cutout is as well as a split of the length of a finger nail right on where the seam begins, on the sleeve's open side. Ex+.
Vinyl shows hairlines but absolutely nothing serious. The way a record looks like when not been bought for storage only. Verdict EX.

Audio. Straight, fresh, powerful, great channeling. No skips, or jumps, and record is playing thru of course. There's few noise between tracks, as well as some bg noise with "Boys", "Please Please Me" on Side A, and "Love Me Do", beginning of "A Taste Of Honey" on Side B. So, for purists, EX-.
