Description
The Beatles - Please Please Me
This outstanding copy of the Beatles' debut studio album is a UK Stereo first pressing on the highly sought after yellow and black Parlophone label.
The matrix numbers suggest that this was one of the first few thousand stereo records pressed.
The labels are the sixth variant (some may say 5th, dependent upon how you count them) that were available for a short time in early 1964. The presence of the "Sold in UK.." and the "Recording First Published" text evidence this.
The vinyl is housed within the original Garrod & Lofthouse flip-back sleeve. The sixth variant were the first and only variant to be coupled with a sleeve with a G&L sleeve with the 'mid-size' stereo aural signifier to the top right hand corner of the front.
Although all early Stereo Please Please Me records are rare, correct and complete copies of this variant are perhaps only second in scarcity to the Black and Gold first variant.
Completing the album is the original heavy paper rice-paper lined EMItex die-cut inner sleeve that only came with very early pressings.

The labels are bright and clean. No spindle marks are visible on either side.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Fantastic deep-gloss playing surfaces which show only light paper scuffs in strong daylight. A really strong example.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT +
The audio is superb! This vinyl has clearly been played cautiously on good quality equipment. There is no sign of groove/play wear. There are quiet lead-ins to both sides and minimal static in between tracks. There is great channel separation, clear vocals and punchy bass. You will struggle to find a copy better than this.
Sleeve: EXCELLENT +
The sleeves look superb. The front retains a glossy finish with bright colours. The rear is very clean and all three flip-backs are in great condition. Two subtle areas of discolouration are visible. All four corners are crisp and sharp. The opening and top and bottom edges along with the spine are without any wear.
Inner Sleeve: EXCELLENT
The original inner sleeve is in great condition. It is perfectly clean with no tears, writing or seam splits. The vinyl is housed inside an audiophile quality, anti-static inner sleeve to help protect and preserve the record and inner sleeve.
The record will be sent via an insured courier in a padded vinyl mailer.
