My clearout continues!
I'm now clearing our a batch of classic rock, prog and 60's LPs that I bought in a collection a few years back, a pretty complete collection but I don't really need all the titles. Watch this space for more titles.......
you're bidding for:
Beatles Please Please Me UK Mono 4th press? LP VG/VG+ No rec first published
cat: PMC 1202
matrix: XEX 421-1N XEX 422-1N
mothers/stampers: 2 AR 12 RO
The vinyl has many light marks on both sides, however none are deep or feelable, it retains a lot of original gloss and shine and grades as VG visually and play graded. It plays with fantastic reproduction but has light crackle at the start which fades but does continue throughout. On most tracks the crackle is lost within the music but on quieter sections and unbetween tracks it is noticable. Both 4th press(?) labels are VG+ with moderate spindle wear but no marks or writing. My understanding is that this is the old 3rd press, which is now the 4th (after the extra small 331/3 press) and has no 'recording first published' text which was added to all subsequent presses. I don't have an idea on the amount of these that were pressed but there doesn't seem to be a great deal on ebay or popsike.
The sleeve on this copy is a really strong VG+ with all flipbacks intact, sharp corners, lovely clear spine text and glossy laminated front. The rear is nice and clean and white and suffers just a couple of small areas of discolouration. (see pics) Other than that there are very few signs of wear. The orig Emitex inner is clean and flat but grades as VG due to a samll tear sround the centre.
