THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'


This extremely scarce & NEAR MINT UK MONO pressing dates from mid-1969 and is on the final incarnation of the iconic black & yellow Parlophone label: PMC 1202

Both label omit the 'Sold in UK..' text but still carry 'The Gramophone Co...' worded rims.

There is no purchase-tax code present around the centre of either label.


Matrix numbers: XEX 421-1N & XEX 428-2N

Stamper codes: 1,5/RHR & 6/RM

Vinyl weight: 147g


Housed in front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover with a small front mono indicator.

Complete with its original red & white EMI advertising inner-sleeve .

An immaculate pair with no spindle trails around either completely unworn centre hole.

Visual: NEAR MINT

Pristine, deep-gloss surfaces which appear 100% 'as new' in strong daylight. Close inspection beneath my powerful and unforgiving halogen desk lamp reveals some harmless wispy paper hairlines on side 2 but nothing further apart from a sparkling rainbow shine to both sides which lie 100% flat on the turntable when playing.

This barely, if ever played copy sounds flawless from start to finish and will not require upgrading.

Cover: NEAR MINT

A 1st-class almost 'shop-new' example which retains a perfect unscratched and unworn front laminate which bears no 'thumbnails' or even a single spine bend. All corners are sharp and unworn as are both opening edges. The rear panel is immaculate with not a trace of its 42 years anywhere. All flipbacks are perfectly clean and intact and both seams and the spine are smooth, unstressed and unworn.

Inner-sleeve: NEAR MINT

Clean & flat with just the unavoidable light disc impression and no writing, seam splits or tears.
