Description
THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'
First issued in October 1969, the '1-EMI box' Parlophone label replaced the yellow & black design which had been employed since April 1963. All Beatles albums released with this label were cut from the same masters as the 1st pressings and in most cases retain the same matrices. Each was pressed on high-quality virgin vinyl and retain all of the warmth and flawless sound quality of the 1st pressings at a fraction of the cost, making them arguably the best value Beatles vinyl available.
This NEAR MINT copy of 'Please, Please Me' is on that same '1-EMI box' EMI/Parlophone label: PCS 3042
Matrix numbers: YEX 94-1 & YEX 95-1 (exactly the same as the 1963 1st pressing)
Stamper codes: 2/ML & 1/ML
Vinyl weight: 146g
Housed in an immaculate front laminated, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover with a small stereo front indicator.
Complete with its original red & white EMI advertising inner-sleeve.

Pristine deep-gloss playing surfaces which apart from a single light surface scuff on side 2 and completely unmarked both in strong daylight AND directly beneath my unforgiving halogen desk lamp.

An extremely clean & unworn example with just three tiny 'thumbnail' wrinkles towards the front openign edge but sharp & unworn corners and opening edges. The rear panel is clean & white with just a touch of age discolouration on the lower flipback's edge, but no other faults or wear.
