THE BEATLES - 'PLEASE, PLEASE ME'/'ASK MY WHY'
This fine and scarce UK 1st pressing dates from initial January 1963 release on the red & silver Parlophone label: 45-R 4983
Both labels include the 'Dick James Music..' publishing credits and the 'Made in Gt. Britain' text.
An 'MT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the 'Ask Me Why' label, with 'MPT' in the run-outs.
Matrix numbers: 7XCE 17217-1N & 7XCE 17218-1N
Stamper codes: 3/GP & 1/A
Housed within its original green & white Parlophone company cover with a genuine & original 1960's ex-record shop stock paper bag.

Labels: EXCELLENT +
A vibrant and unworn set, free from any writing, stickers or missing paper. There is a handful of light spindle trails around each unworn centre hole; less on 'Please, Please Me' than 'Ask Me Why'.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
Pristine deep-gloss playing surfaces which retain all of their factory shine with no noticeable surface marks or wear in strong daylight. Closer inspection directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals some harmless wispy paper-type hairlines but nothing I would call a scratch. Tough to find a cleaner copy.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT
Always a joy to hear this 1st pressing with its punchier, more powerful mix than that of the album mix. This well looked after copy has received a minimal amount careful play and my play-check detected just a hint of playwear on the peaks, but no other audible issues on either side.
Cover: EXCELLENT
Clean & flat with light storagewear but no writing, tears or seam splits.
