Description

This is a rare original 3 & 3/4 ips twin track mono reel-to-reel tape from 1963 (TA-PMC 1202) ‘Please Please Me’ - The Beatles’ first album. I have checked it on a reel-to-reel player and it plays as new apart from some creasing on the tape at the end of side two which causes a very slight reduction in volume at the end of ‘Twist And Shout’. However, this has no effect on any of the tracks on side one. There are no snaps, repairs or stretches on the tape and the white leader tape at the start of side one is intact and full length. The red leader tape is missing from side two but there is plenty blank tape to wind onto the take-up spool before the music starts. The tape is on the original 4 inch EMITAPE reel which is in excellent condition.

It has been separated from it's original box at some point in it's past, but someone has taken the time to make a new one the same size as the original with excellent graphics (see photo). Consequently, there are no marks, stains or tears. (If you ask me, it's better than an original box as it shows no sign of ageing!).

In case you can't remember, the tracks are:

SIDE ONE: I Saw Her Standing There; Misery; Anna (Go To Him); Chains; Boys; Ask Me Why; and Please Please Me.

SIDE TWO: Love Me Do; P.S. I Love You; Baby It's You; Do You Want To Know A Secret; A Taste Of Honey; There's A Place; and Twist And Shout.

The opening price for this tape is a BARGAIN if it stays at that (check out http://www.leninimports.com/beatles_reel.html#bssingles ). I put Beatles reel-to-reel tapes on eBay whenever I can get hold of them. If you are a fan or a collector, it might be worth your while checking out my feedback and adding me to your favourites.
