Description

THE BEATLES - 'STRAWBERRY FIELD FOREVER'/'PENNY LANE'

UK 1967 1st PRESSING 45 & PICTURE SLEEVE

This barely played 1967 UK 1st pressing 45 is on the black & silver Parlophone label: R 5570

Both labels carry the 'Sold in UK.. text & have 'The Gramophone Co. Ltd...' worded rim texts.

The 'KT' purchase tax code is visible in the centre of the 'Penny Lane' label.

Housed in its original full colour, limited edition thin paper picture cover.

Matrix numbers: 7XCE 18415-1 & 7XCE 18416-2

Stamper codes: 2/PP & 5/HM

CONDITION

Labels: NEAR MINT

A superb clean & unworn set with just a few tiny spindle marks to the 'Penny Lane' centre hole and even less to the other.

Visual: NEAR MINT

Both playing surfaces are clean, glossy & totally unmarked in strong daylight, revealing just a few harmless wispy paper hairlines directly beneath my unforgiving powerful halogen desk lamp.

Play: EXCELLENT

This copy has recieved just a few careful plays and is without any significant deterioration to the sound quality. There is slight wear to a few peaks on both tracks but nothing serious enough, in my opinion, to spoil the enjoyment of this incredible coupling.

Cover

VERY GOOD +

A very respectable example of this fragile cover which displays some minor age-toning to the paper and some inner-ring marks to the front image together with a few faint age-spots along the rear flipback. However, there is no writing, tears or splits to any seam.

**PLEASE NOTE: This item is located and will be shipped from AUSTRIA. 1st class international postage to UK addresses will be 4.00 GBP**

  • My grading is strict & conservative grading under strong daylight & directly beneath a halogen desk lamp to UK 'RECORD COLLECTOR' standards.
