Description
I’ve discovered additional duplicates of Beatles’ and solo PROMO VINYL, so please check my other auctions for MORE PROMO VINYL that may be of interest to you.
In this auction:
· “JET” by Paul McCartney & Wings
· This is Apple Records P - 1871.
· This is a PROMOTIONAL SINGLE with the song in MONO on the A-side and STEREO on the B-side.
· Both sides have a 3-second intro, but STEREO side play time is 4:08 while the MONO side has been edited to 2:49.
· As you may know, PROMO RECORDS were pressed in very limited quantities and released by record companies ONLY to the radio stations and DJs for airplay to promote the song, artist and new LP. The LIMITED NUMBER OF THESE PRESSINGS and NOT AVAILABLE/SOLD TO THE PUBLIC have made them rare and very desirable to collectors.
· The labels state that this song is “from the LP ‘BAND ON THE RUN’ SO 3415’”.
· This record was issued in January of 1974.
· Just as Paul wrote a song about his sheepdog named Martha, “Jet” was the name of his Labrador Retriever.
· The VINYL on both sides is in NEAR MINT MINUS CONDITION with just a few very light/slight hairlines/scuffs. There is a very slight warp that does not affect play at all. (I tracked it on my Technics turntable at ½ gram to check it.)
· The LABELS are clean. There are NO stickers, NO writing, and NO label tears often found on promo records from DJ use. (The light area on the A-side label is from the flash of the camera.)
· An Apple Records stock sleeve in Near Mint condition is included.
