Description
I have been a collector of records from the 1950s and 1960s for the past 40 years. All LPs, EPs, and 45s I have listed on eBay are from my personal collection. I have used strict grading standards of the UK publication Record Collector. I will use a mint grade only if I know a record has never been played. Unless a record is sealed or I know it is unplayed, M- is my highest grade. I have described the flaws, if any, on the vinyl, labels, and sleeves. All the records I have listed will play as good as, or better than, they look.
I have also been an audiophile for 40 years (analog only). The records listed have been play-graded on high quality equipment (turntable, tone-arm, cartridge, pre-amp, amp, speakers, and subwoofers). My system picks up the slightest surface noise on vinyl; i.e., ticks, pops, hiss, and sibilants due to groove wear. The standard I have used in adding a record to my collection has been how well it played (no surface noise present) in addition to how it looked. Over my years of collecting I have continuously upgraded my personal collection of Beatles records to where almost all of them play as new. To me, this means quiet surfaces; i.e., no ticks, pops, crackle, or hiss in the music or the dead wax.
Your satisfaction is guaranteed. If you are not satisfied with an item for any reason, you may return it for a full refund of your purchase price. This is a 1967 mono pressing of the French EP Strawberry Fields Forever. It is catalog number MEO 134 and was issued in March 1967.
Odeon Records of France did not release 45 rpm singles until 1966. Regarding 45 rpm records, the company's focus was always on EPs rather than singles. This resulted in some very colorful and unique EP covers on which the photos of the Beatles can be found nowhere else.
Vinyl: M-
The vinyl is flawless. It looks and plays mint. There are no ticks, pops, crackle, hiss or any other kind of surface noise with the music or in the run-ins or run-outs. All you will hear is the music. Based on the looks of the vinyl and labels I don't think this EP has ever been played except for the one time I played it for this listing.
Labels: M-
The labels are flawless and show no sign of handling or wear. There are no signs of wear around or in the spindle hole and no signs of wear on the labels.
Sleeve: EX
The sleeve has solid seams with no creasing. Both the front and rear panel show the beginning of ring wear around the outer edge of the record label. There is some small loss of color near the top and bottom seams. The corners of the jacket are square and sharp with no wear to the tips.
