Original 2nd Press OZ LP released in 1963 on the Black & Gold Parlophone Records Label. Cat:PMCO1202. This album is in MONO. This is the December 1963 release. Parlophone label changes with an added E.M.I. credit. The rear cover has only one Mono cat. no. top right. The Angus McBean credit appears upside down on the back of the cover in the bottom left-hand corner, due to the flip-back design. Matrix numbers: XEX 421-1 N/ XEX 422-1 N.
Once "Please Please Me" rocketed to number one, the Beatles rushed to deliver a debut album, bashing out Please Please Me in a day. Decades after its release, the album still sounds fresh, precisely because of its intense origins. As the songs rush past, it's easy to get wrapped up in the sound of the record itself without realizing how the album effectively summarizes the band's eclectic influences. Naturally, the influences shine through their covers, all of which are unconventional and illustrate the group's superior taste. There's a love of girl groups, vocal harmonies, sophisticated popcraft, schmaltz, R&B, and hard-driving rock & roll, which is enough to make Please Please Me impressive, but what makes it astonishing is how these elements converge in the originals.

There are light spindle marks on labels and light sticker stains on both sides. Record has some light scuff marks and very light scratches that cause some light crackles mostly noticeable between tracks and is in VG++ condition. Cover with back flaps has some ring wear, a small sticky tape stain on top right corner, a small sticky tape stain on back top edge, a name written in blue pen on back top edge, some light age spots, some tiny surface tears around edges and a tear on bottom right corner going from corner over to the letter “r” in other. There is a tiny piece of sticky tape over tear on bottom right edge. Cover is in VG condition.

Wrapping method: All records are sent in stiff cardboard mailers then wrapped in brown paper and sealed around edges with brown packaging tape. Records are taken out of sleeve to avoid seam splits and ring wear.

Post method for overseas: All parcels are sent via Australia Post and are sent on a standard airmail service. There are no tracking numbers on these items. If you require a tracking number the item will have to be sent as an insured item which incurs a further postage fee.
