The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour
This outstanding 'final-upgrade' example of the Beatles' ninth studio album is an extremely rare MONO US first pressing on the Capitol rainbow label.
Magical Mystery tour was originally released in the UK as a double 7" EP. In the US, Capitol released it a a stand alone 12" LP. Due to the success of the LP in the USA, EMI decided to import a number of copies to sell in the British market. The gold 'EMI IMPORT' sticker on the front cover tells you that this is one of those records.
The fact that this record was imported makes the fact that the record is MONO even rarer. Only a handful of those imported were MONO as the British market was quickly moving to stereo records in 1967.
In addition, this record was produced in one of the first production cycles at the Jacksonville Pressing plant. This is evidenced by the absence of the 'X' in either matrix number and the "MfD. BY Capitol Records, INC. U.S.A" text seen at the bottom of the label rim. This pressing is widely regarded as one of Capitol's best Beatles records.
The vinyl is housed in the original gatefold sleeve. The 24 page booklet is still attached and retains all pages.
Also included is the original white patents pending inner sleeve. These were only supplied with UK imported records.

The labels are bright, clean and without writing. No spindle marks are visible on either sides.
Visual: EXCELLENT +
Immaculate 'factory-fresh' deep-gloss playing surfaces which only show a single surface mark on Side 2. Underneath a halogen desk lamp a few barely visible wispy paper hairlines can be seen to either side alongside a sparkling rainbow shine.
Sound Quality: Mint -
The audio is fantastic. This copy has clearly only been played a handful of times on good quality equipment. There is no sign of groove/play wear. There are quiet lead-ins to both sides and minimal static in between tracks. You will not need to look for another copy of this fantastic record.
Sleeve: MINT -
The sleeve looks shop-new. All four sides maintain bright colours and are clean without any discolouration. All 24 pages of the booklet are still attached to the internal spine and are without damage. All corners are crisp and sharp. The opening, top and bottom edges and the square spine are all without any wear.
Inner Sleeve: EXCELLENT +
The original inner sleeve is in great condition. There is the unavoidable signs of subtle ring wear. The vinyl is housed inside an audiophile quality, anti-static inner sleeve to help protect and preserve the record and inner sleeve.
The record will be sent via an insured courier in a padded vinyl mailer.
