Description
In 1967 The Beatles had 6 songs to release, and it was decided that they would release them as a double-EP set. The package came with a gatefold sleeve and a 28-page book including lyrics. This EP had the catalog number Parlophone MMT 1 for the monaural pressing and SMMT 1 for the stereo pressing. It was the first Beatles EP to be issued in both mono and stereo.
The Beatles' Magical Mystery Tour EP was released in the UK more than 2 weeks before the Magical Mystery Tour film premiered on BBC television. The EP was very well received by the public (but, unfortunately, the TV film was not.)
In this auction:

· This is a UK Pressing.
· It is a DOUBLE-EP PRESSING with GATEFOLD COVER and 28-PAGE BOOKLET stapled inside.
· This is Parlophone Records SMMT - 1.
· This is a STEREO pressing.
· The original double-EP Mono & Stereo Pressings were released December 8, 1967 in the UK.
· I believe that this is the Second Stereo Pressing which was issued in 1973 because:
1) the labels do not have the “SOLD IN UK” printing that was on the labels under the center holes on First Pressings
2) the 4 lyric pages inside the booklet are YELLOW. First pressings had BLUE lyric pages.
· The COVER is in STRONG VG to WEAK VG+ CONDITION with light to moderate overall wear. The cover is laminated and does not show significant wear. There is light to moderate wear on the corners and top and bottom edges. There are NO SEAM SPLITS, NO TEARS, NO RING WEAR, and NO WRITING on this cover.
· The BOOKLET inside the gatefold cover is in GREAT CONDITION. It is complete and fully attached (by the original 2 staples) to the cover; it’s NOT loose at all. (As you probably know, the booklet inside the U.S. LP cover often came completely or partially loose from the cover.)
· The VINYL is in NICE VG+ CONDITION and the LABELS are CLEAN.
· This EP comes with its ORIGINAL BLACK PAPER INNER SLEEVES. There are pockets just inside the front cover and just inside the rear cover where these sleeves with their records fit. (See image).
· Record 1, Side 1 contains: “Magical Mystery Tour” and “Your Mother Should Know”. Record 1, Side 2 contains: “I Am The Walrus”.
· Record 2, Side 3contains: “The Fool On The Hill” and “Flying”. Record 2, Side 4 contains “Blue Jay Way”.
It’s a NICE BEATLES UK PRESSING of this UNIQUE DOUBLE-EP RELEASE to add to your vinyl collection.
