Description
This is an EXTREMELY rare Beatles 45 vinyl single issued circa 1992. This was part of the “For Jukeboxes Only!” line from Captiol Records and their CEMA division.
A number of Beatles singles (and some solo Beatles singles) were issued on colored vinyl in this line. However, the “Love Me Do/PS I Love You” single was only intended to be issued and was indeed ultimately issued on standard black vinyl.
A VERY small number of “Love Me Do” singles were erroneously pressed in RED vinyl. I’ve heard estimates of anywhere from a few dozen to 50. I don’t know the precise number of pressings that were made in error (it’s doubtful anybody knows the precise number), but it was very, very few in total.
I obtained this single brand new from a record store back around 1992 (it was the early 90’s, in any event, I purchased this when it was new and word was just spreading about its rarity) who had one copy. I’ve never played the 45, and it has remained in its original Capitol Records-issued white sleeve and stored in a cool dry place since purchase. It is essentially brand new, and is in marvelous shape. I don’t see any issues at all. The label came from the factory with a couple of barely discernable dots (as pictured) as part of the printing process. Any anomalies came from the factory. There are some flash/reflection bits in some of these pictures as well that are simply due to the camera/lighting.
This is a beautiful record for display, and unlike a lot of items out there sold as “Rare”, this is a truly rare item that doesn’t pop up that often. I hate to part with it, but I want to find it a nice, new loving home.
Shipping price includes full insurance as well.
All items are sold as-is, no returns can be accepted. Please inquire if you have any questions; I’m happy to answer them. Thanks!
