I grade conservatively and strive to present accurate descriptions and detailed photos, along with noting any visible flaws.. *** Please note that I use visual grading only.***From the heyday of 1970s “Beatlegs,” here’s a vintage copy of the unofficial Beatles LP Live In Anytown. Issued in the typical plain white cover with insert (insert on this one isn’t glued on, as most were). The back cover has “20” written in black marker on the upper left (probably the $20 price that I usually paid for these kinds of LPs back in the day).
Even though the insert lists the record company as Highway, this was actually done by the infamous Trade Mark of Quality (TMOQ) label - the LP has the standard generic TMOQ label.
Condition of the vinyl is a strong EX (Excellent). I never played any of these “Beatleg” LPs more than a couple of times - I see one very light scratch that keeps it from being NM (Near Mint).The insert is NM, and the generic white cover has held up well.
*** Please keep in mind that this is NOT a studio quality recording, even by 70s standards - none of these unofficial releases were. It’s pretty much a collectors period piece. If you weren’t around back then, it’s probably hard to imagine how excited Beatles collectors like myself got, every time we picked a new one and were able to hear something beyond the official releases. If you were,then you know what I mean.The final pic shows all available details on this LP, from reference books on Beatles boots: You Can’t Do That (Charles Reinhart, 1981); Do You Want To Know A Secret & Fixing A Hole (L.R.E.King, 1988 & 1989); Black Market Beatles (Jim Berkenstadt & Belmo, 1995); and The Beatles Not For Sale (Belmo, 1997).
