1970 UK *BOX SET* (PXS 1)
** COMPLETE**
This rare UK box set, designed by John Kosh, comes entirely complete with: outer slip-case, both inner trays, LP and exclusive softback book showing candid colour and black and white pictures by Ethan A. Russell of The Beatles during the filming and recording.
The catalogue number - 'PXS 1' - did not appear anywhere on the package and was just used for ordering purposes.
Outer Slipcase: EXCELLENT
Strong and clean and still retaining its high gloss laminate the case displays some light handling and storage wear but no major faults.
There is very slight wear to the edges and a 5mm repaired nick near the lower left corner but no tears or feathering or missing paper.
The rear shows some light marks and minor creases but no splits or tears.
Trays
Outer: EXCELLENT
Very strong and clean with just a few light creases and minimal wear to the corners but no tears.
Inner: EXCELLENT
This example is perfect apart from one small corner tear where the book sat, but it has not split right through.
Book: NEAR MINT
Superb complete copy with a very high gloss showing just one small scuff, but no creases or tears.
The spine is firm and 'uncracked' and there are NO loose, missing or creased pages.
LP
A first pressing on the dark green Apple label PCS 7096 with the 'Apple Records..' rim text.
This copy unusually has the 'KT' tax/price code visible on the side one label.
Housed in a fully laminated, thin card 'Garrod & Lofthouse' sleeve with the RED Apple logo on the rear.
Complete with original white inner-sleeve.
Matrix numbers: YEX 773-2U & YEX 774-2U
Stamper numbers: 1,7/HL & 3/PH
Cover: EXCELLENT
Very clean retaining its unsctratched high gloss laminate, and showing some light creases to the upper and lower edges.
The corners are square and 'un-bumped' and the opening edge is sharp and unworn.
The spine and all seams are strong and unsplit.
