Description

THE BEATLES - 'LET IT BE'

1970 UK *BOX SET* (PXS 1)

**COMPLETE**

This rare UK box set, designed by John Kosh, comes complete with: outer slip-case, both inner trays, LP and exclusive softback book showing candid colour and black and white pictures by Ethan A. Russell of The Beatles during filming and recording.

The 'PXS 1' catalogue number did not appear anywhere on the package, it was just used for ordering purposes.

No black ink has been applied to any component.

Outer Slipcase: VERY GOOD

Strong and clean dislaying some general handling/storage wear & light creases but no major faults.
The corner bears some wear & there is a 4mm tear along the fold of the upper left corner only.
There is a rub along part of the rear lower edge (beneath the wording) and some small laminate scratches but no other significant signs of wear.

Trays

Outer: VERY GOOD

Still in-shape with some light creases to the flaps and rubbing to the edges & corners but no tears or other damage.
(The white line on the lower part of the right flap is a crease mark & not a tear).

Inner: EXCELLENT

Complete & in-shape, with just a single 1.5cm tear to one corner (lower right) where the book sat - but this has not split through completely.

Book: EXCELLENT PLUS

High-gloss, uncreased cover with just slight wear to the lower front cover edge but no loose or missing pages.
This copy has the credits printed on page 8.

LP

A correct 1st pressing on the dark green Apple label: PCS 7096 with the 'Apple Records..' rim text.
Housed in a fully laminated, 'Garrod & Lofthouse' cover with the RED Apple logo on the reverse.

Matrix numbers: YEX 773-2U & YEX 774-2U
Stamper numbers: 1,6/MO & 1/HO

NEAR MINT

Visual & Audio: NEAR MINT

Pristine, clean and bright surfaces bearing a few wispy paper hairlines which are visible only directly under a halogen desk lamp.

Plays & sounds virtually 'as new' with no groovewear or crackle on any tracks. Even John's opening 'I dig a pygmy..' line is clean and undistorted.
There is a single revolution 'tick' on track 2, side 1 but otherwise there are no audible faults.
High quality quiet vinyl which lies 100% flat both sides on the turntable with no dishing or warping.

Cover: EXCELLENT

Clean & glossy bearing just some a few small, light creases & minor shelfwear, but no significant faults.

Strict visual & audible gradings under intense direct light & at volume on high-end audio equipment
