Beautiful VERY RARE LP - Recorded during the sixties when The Beatles were in top form. ‘Let It Be’ was the final studio album by the Beatles. Reached #1 on charts around the world.
This is the first Japanese Apple 12-track LP edition pressed by Toshiba on Clear Red Vinyl in a gate-fold picture sleeve. Complete with original insert (lyrics) and original obi.
In Japan, 'Let It Be' was released as both a box set (with a 164 page book) and a regular issue RED VINYL in a gate-fold cover. (In the UK and Canada and USA it was on black vinyl).
This edition is the same 'Let It Be' as the limited edition box set and is a first press of the gate-fold edition.
It was released in February 1971, as a gate-fold, (as distinct from the Japanese red vinyl box set).
First pressings were issued on a special blend of translucent red vinyl called "Everclean" by Toshiba, famed for its crystal clear quality sound.
The cover is still very well preserved, only very slight traces of use on the edges.
Sleeve: EXCELLENT for its vintage. No creases, just edge wear. There are a few light corner scuffs to the gate-fold sleeve with the spine still in excellent condition.
Insert: Original insert in very good condition, displaying very little age yellowing and a three slight crinkle-slits (very small) on one lower edge. The English text of the lyric insert has the misprint that all the Japanese early editions had. Japanese translators missed the last verse of 'Let It Be' as can be seen on the top of page two (circled in the photos).
OBI: ORIGINAL Medallion-style green obi strip with APPLE logo medallion at top. No tears or creases in the strip part of the obi. Top left of obi shows some wear on one side of the APPLE logo medallion (see picture).
Labels: Both labels exceptionally clean. No spindle marks or wear on the labels
Vinyl: The vinyl appears in very good condition. Some hairlines and slight surface scratches. These do not impact the sound quality at all. Apart from some white noise at the very beginning on the run in groove, the LP plays smoothly all the way through on all tracks, without any skips or noise.
A charming album featuring the title track 'Let It Be' along with classics 'Maggie Mae', 'The Long and Winding Road’ and finishing strongly with 'Get Back'.
