READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Beatles LP Sgt. Pepper 1967 UNCONFIRMED HTF First Pressing One-Line Title on BOTH SIDES!
When collectors think of the first two Jacksonville pressings of Sgt. Pepper, we think of the labels with the thick lettering titles on two lines. There is a rare STEREO pressing with the title on one line, but only on Side 1. Those are hard enough to locate, believe me. But there is this very seldom-seen variation out of Jacksonville with the entire title on one line on BOTH labels.
Not to be confused with the Los Angeles first pressing, which IS documented in Perry Cox’ great books. We’ve seen that layout with the 1968/69 “Subsidiary of…” label variation, however, it has the small Capitol logo at the 6 o’clock position. Those are also scarce as hell’s bells. (See photo for comparison.)
This Jacksonville variation is the most elusive. Try to find another copy.
Since 1975, I’ve seen two. It’s time for someone serious to own this one.
Vinyl--- EX/ VG+. Side 1 has beautiful shiny vinyl with hairlines only detectable under the bare bulb. Side 2 does have some long scuffs, but they are very light, and you cannot feel them with your fingertip. I tried to brighten them in the photos for you. They're not this bad in person.
Plates--- B16/ A15. Machine-stamped letter “O” in the dead wax on both sides makes this copy pressed in Jacksonville.
Cover--- Nice VG+. Not perfect, but structurally very solid. Light wear, both sides, but still full-punchy color. Spine is starting to crackle, and there’s a 1-inch tear on “tles” on the spine. Top back cover slick has become unglued. (These days, can you blame it??)
Gatefold--- Strong VG+. Maybe EX. NO SEAM SPLITS.
Labels--- NM/ NM. NO SPINDLE MARKS.
Insert--- EX. Full gloss, bold colors, razor-sharp corners, and flat as my kid brother’s head. The only issue keeping it from NM is a finger divot just under the red and yellow arm banners, and some light yellowing on the back.
Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Not issued with the red gradient inner sleeve. Generic white inner sleeve with no die-cut hole for the labels to show is present and in VG+ condition.
A rice paper inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

If you think you’ll find another one of these any time soon, you should start looking now.
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
