Beatles LP STEREO Yesterday…and Today First Pressing 1966 in Shrink NM All Around!

READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

So with that said…

Consignment pressing from Columbia Records.  Best copy you’ll ever see.

Vinyl--- NM, Side 1.  Looks unplayed. Side 2 has one extremely light hairline that I just found by looking at it under a bare bulb.  Otherwise, it too looks 1966-unplayed.

Plates--- W4/ X5.

Cover--- Still in shrink. This is one of the best covers I’ve ever seen.  As collectors well know, these white covers are subject to ringwear and dirtwear on a pretty high order.  The shrink on this cover is still fully intact, with the exception of the opening.

Shrinkwrap looks like it was at the end of the roll.  Has Columbia breathe holes, which differ from Capitol breathe holes in that they are smaller, and they have a lip.  These end-of-roll breathe holes are double breathe holes in a straight line.  In this case, they appear on the front cover.  Back cover seam runs down the center of the cover, which copies that have been sealed at the factory don’t have.

Labels--- Labels are gorgeous NM.  They look like they were printed yesterday…and today, for that matter.  Labels have the wide concentric ring, closer to the edge.  The thick trench ring belongs to RCA.  This thinner ring is Columbia Records’ ring.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Very nice.  Flat, crisp and with bold graphics. Does have a small bottom seam split.   Curved tab version.  A generic white sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve during shipment. 

RIAA: None.

When your Beatles collector opens this one on Christmas morning, they’ll get the same sensation as someone who had opened it on Christmas morning, 1966. Or maybe just the sensation of eating a York’s peppermint patty for all I know.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
