Beatles LP Rubber Soul TOUGHEST Apple Label Variation 1969

I can’t test-play vinyl at the minute, so with that said…

The Jacksonville plant is the only plant that used the same text layout from the black Capitol 1969 “Subsidiary of…” labels, transferring them to the first Apple issue.  They were also not in the shops for very long before the discs were pressed with the usually-found layout for the Apple pressing.

Far more than 99% of Apple copies out there will have the more common typeset.  See photos for comparison of the black “Subsidiary of…”and the common Apple text layout with this copy for auction.

(All stereo copies play the false start at the beginning of “I’m Looking Through You.”  This copy has it as well.)

Vinyl--- Strong VG+, weak Excellent. Side 1 has mostly new shine with a few patches of very light scratches.  Side 2 shows the same degree of new shine, but has one or two light scuffs that can be seen under normal room lighting. 

Plates--- W8/ W14 Hand-etched letter “O” on each side makes this a Jacksonville copy.

Cover--- Excellent cover, just a little dirtwear to the back bottom cover.  A ding on the spine.  NO SPLITS.

Labels--- Beautiful NM/ EX. Slight spindle marks on Side 2 label, hard to see. Has the “Subsidiary of…” text at the bottom of the Side 2 perimeter. This was the first Apple pressing, using labels from the 1968 variant.  There are TWO labels to compare with this one, in order to show you the differences.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- Generic white sleeve.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
