CONDITION

Disc

Visual: EXC+ to MINT-

A fabulous looking and well cared for disc which is completely unmarked when viewed in strong daylight. Under a strong halogen desk light there is some superficial whispy sleeve removal surface marks. The vinyl grades on or around near MINT.

Labels: EXC+ to MINT-

There are a number of light spindle trails to each label but no wear around the spindle hole. All silver text is completely unworn. Side one has the early and rare ZKT tax code, clearly indicating the record was bought on or around the original release date in March 1963. There is no writing or personalisation to either label.

Audio: MINT-

Stunning audio throughout. The transition from the Black Gold label to the newly designed Yellow & black label did not necessarily mean there was a drop in audio quality and this copy bears this out, as it has all the power and dynamism of a Black Gold copy. There is no groove wear or distortion to any of the music signals. All gaps are silent with only the sound of natural vinyl. A superb example and rare to find an audio in this state of preservation on an original 1963 pressing.

Cover

MINT-

An immaculate UK 1963 E J Day cover. One of the finest examples I have come across. It still retains its original shop freshness. The front panel is fresh and the laminate is totally unworn. There are two faint thumbnails and a slight stain to the extreme top left corner but other than this it is difficult to fault. The back panel is also clean and fresh with no writing. All flipbacks are intact and the spine is in perfect condition. In my opinion well in excess of an excellent+ grade hence near MINT. The cover is a true rarity, E J day covers in this spectacular condition rarely turn up for auction.

Inner-sleeve EXC+to MINT-

Original clear EMI inner.

Parlophne Flyer

Original early 1960’s Parlophone flyer (not a reproduction)
