READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

If you love error pressings like I love error pressings, then here’s a stellar example for the errors section of your Beatles collection.

I have no idea when this re-release was issued, but a good guess would be around 2009, when the DMM (Direct Metal Mastering) pressings in stereo came out.

This copy has an extra Side 1 label pressed into the grooves.  And what’s more, although it may not be very good for a fine stylus, the record actually does play through the label.  I tried it at our local used record store’s listening booth, just out of curiosity.

They would have killed me if they knew!

Vinyl--- EX/EX.  Apart from the obvious obstruction, there are a few extremely light wisps on both sides.  Otherwise, the sides shine 99.5% brand new.

Plates--- XEX 421-4-1/ XXE XEX 422-3-1-2.  (I know that XEX is Britain’s code for MONO mixes, as opposed to their stereo code, YEX.  But I’ve never heard of XXE.  Anyone know that one?)

Machine-stamped letter “D” also on both sides.

Cover--- EX.  The only issue is on the back cover at the bottom.  There looks to be some sort of manufacturer’s damage there as well.  NO SEAM SPLITS.

Labels--- EX/EX.  Side 1 label was torn when the accident happened with the second Side 1 label.  See photo.  Side 2 has a couple of short and light spindle marks.

Inner Sleeve--- NM. Generic plastic British inner sleeve is present.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: N/A

**Error pressings are not only fun, but they’re also unique.  Not another one like it.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
