CONDITION
Disc
Visual: EXCELLENT+
A superb looking disc which appears virtually mint in strong daylight. When viewed under intense halogen light superficial whispy marks become visible consistent with taking the record in and out of its inner sleeve. There are however no visually obtrusive marks to any of the vinyl or anything that could be described as a scratch. This vinyl record has clearly been well cared for in its 52 year history.
Labels: EXCELLENT+
A great set of ‘Parlophone’ rim labels with evidence of only a few very faint spindle traces. The KT tax code is visible on side two.
Audio: MINT-
Superb audio throughout with no groovewear or distortion to any of the music signals. There is some occasional light surface noise but most tracks grade at mint including the delicate I’ll Follow the Sun, I’m a Loser and Baby’s in Black. The run-in to Eight Days a Week is silent. Even the innermost tracks Kansas City and Everybody’s trying to be My Baby are undistorted. The record does not jump or stick. A fabulous listening experience with clear and rich analogue sound.
Cover
EXCELLENT
An original Beatles for Sale ‘dark’ cover, positively dating to the original release date of 1964. Due to its flimsy construction and the difficulty in removing and placing the record back into the inner gatefold area, it has become one of the hardest of all Beatles covers to find in anything approaching excellent condition. This sleeve has survived remarkably well and shows only light signs of wear and handling marks.
Inner-sleeve EXCELLENT+
Clean & correct original 1964 ‘rice paper’ inner with no writing.
