Description
The Beatles, ATCO ST-169, 1964 original first press stereo copy. Vinyl and labels are as mint as one could hope for. I have owned this record since it was purchased new in December 1964 (from Mr. B's for Music, Peninsula Center, Palos Verdes CA). It has been played on my Thorens TD-125 turntable precisely twice, for reference tapes, with an elliptical stylus tracking at .5 grams. The grooves have never been touched except by a Discwasher brush and fluid. Only a sealed copy will be better. The sleeve is excellent, with no splits, tears, writing or other damage, with light ringwear on the reverse, and a tiny bit of bubbling in the lamination on the front at the top, some minor shelf wear at the bottom edge near the mouth. The inner sleeve is the original 1964 Atco LP sleeve which has, over the years, become lightly foxed due to the cheap acidic paper. The album will be sent with a newer inner sleeve and the record outside of the jacket and original sleeve to prevent damage during shipping.

This record will be shipped to USA addresses with priority, flat rate shipping with $1,000 insurance coverage. Non USA bidders are welcome, but shipping will be arranged after the sale. Many countries do not have postal insurance coverage agreements. If that's the case, the buyer must accept all liability for damage in shipping.
This record can be researched in Bruce Spizer's "The Beatles' Swan Song" book. The Spizer number for the sleeve is ATCO 169.SC1 which does not show the credit to Tony Sheridan on the Beatles' tracks on the song listing on the reverse of the jacket. The labels indicate that the vinyl itself is ATCO 169.SR1A, again, without the Tony Sheridan credit on the Beatles' tracks. This is a perfect example of the first press Atco album, featuring the songs "Ain't She Sweet," "Take Out Some Insurance on Me, Baby," "Sweet Georgia Brown," and "Nobody's Child."
I have been an avid Beatles' and other Rock music collector since the early 1960's and am the proud owner of several hundred mint condition, classic rock albums from the USA, UK, Canada, Germany, Japan and many other countries. I'm now in my '70's and it's time to let these gems go to someone who will appreciate the loving care with which I have curated this amazing archive.
