READ THIS!

Sealed albums are non-returnable if they have been opened.  (That’s fair, isn’t it?)

Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

So with that said…

Beatles LP Abbey Road U.S. Capitol Picture Disc 1978 Still Sealed!

There were initially only 25,000 copies of these picture discs pressed in 1978.  But after that initial run had been exhausted in an astonishingly short amount of time, the total was boosted to 100,000 copies.  Of course.  But that’s still a surprisingly low figure, given that upon release in 1969, Abbey Road sold in excess of 4 million copies worldwide within the first 6 weeks of its release.  100,000 copies of this picture disc is nothing in comparison.

It’s always nice to find a sealed copy that wasn’t saw-marked after sales dropped off.  I was very happy to find this copy.  But upon closer examination after I bought it, I see that it has a punch hole instead, at the bottom corner that I didn't even notice.

And so with that, my hunt continues.

Vinyl--- NM SEALED.

Plates--- NM SEALED.

Cover--- VG SEALED.  Cover does have a couple of issues, the punch hole being the first.  Secondly, there’s a moderate amount of creasing and record outdent.  Thirdly, there are two breaches in the shrinkwrap.  One is on each side, caused by the punch hole at the bottom.  The other one is on the back cover.  See photos. There are also a couple of remnants of labels or tape on the front.  I’m not going to try to remove them. And finally, tilted toward a light source, you can see light dirtwear on both sides.

Labels--- NM SEALED.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- NM SEALED.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
