READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning. I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.
Beatles LP 1967 Rubber Soul LAST MONO Pressing Capitol Partial Shrink, Stunning NM/EX!
Gorgeous keeper copy of this last MONO pressing. Labels list “The Beatles” on both sides. Inner sleeve is the 1967 tan-colored inner sleeve. Vinyl is big and shiny!
Vinyl--- NM/EX. Side 1 looks so close to never having been played. Side 2 has 3 or 4 extremely light hairlines only, far too light to photograph. Both sides shine just like brand new! Gorgeous platter.
Plates--- F17/G18. Machine-stamped asterisk in the dead wax makes this copy pressed in Los Angeles.
Cover--- EX. Front cover is completely covered with the shrink. Back cover has only about a third of the shrink, but it still retain mostly white.
The only issues are that there is a very small area on the back cover at the bottom RIAA corner, where there is a little browning, and a manufacturer’s crease at the bottom left of the back cover. Otherwise, this cover looks very new. NO SPLIT SEAMS. NOT EVEN ALMOST.
Breathe Holes--- There are two breathe holes on the front cover. One is in the letter “S” in the word, “Soul,” the other is due south in George’s hair. Because as we all know, breathe holes very often land somewhere on George.
Labels--- NM/EX. Both labels look 1967-brand new. The only tiny issue is a tiny circle of missing paper on Side 2, to the left of the track listing, barely noticeable.
Labels list “The Beatles” on them, which is what makes this copy a second pressing MONO.
Capitol Inner Sleeve--- EX. Original Capitol tan inner sleeve is present. This was the last colored sleeve used by Capitol in 1967. Nice and flat. Minor wrinkles here and there. Sleeve has the west coast thumb tab. NO SPLIT SEAMS.
A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.
RIAA: 6
As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up. Thanks!)
Note: All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.
CAUTION! There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids. A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.
Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!
(Please note: Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized. The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle. Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix? Thanks!)
