READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

Beatles LP 1965 Rubber Soul MONO in Shrink First Pressing Decca Consignment, EX!

Most sellers would have graded the vinyl NM.  However; there are just a few extremely light lines on both sides that are hard to find.  Side 1 has some manufacturer’s cloudiness as well.  Still a gorgeous first pressing!

Vinyl--- EX/EX.  Side 1 is an easy 95% original glossy surface.  Side 2 is more like 98%.  A beauty!

Plates--- T14P/T14P.  Decca inserted their own letter code suffixes on their pressings.

Cover--- VG+. This cover would have graded EX, except that the previous owner had peeled the shrink back on the back cover and wrote in ballpoint, “Music to relax to Bob.”  See photo.

There is a long split in the shrink on the back cover at the bottom.  But it still protected the white back cover beautifully.  Apart from that, the front cover grades EX.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Breathe Holes--- There are two breathe holes on the front cover.  Configured differently than Capitol’s evenly-spaced breathe holes, because Capitol didn’t package this copy.

One is between John and Ringo, the other is southeast, between John and Ringo.

Labels--- NM/NM.  First pressing labels didn’t include “The Beatles” on them.  Labels are flat against the vinyl.  Concentric groove closer to the playhole come from Decca lathes.  These look like they did when they were printed up in 1965.  Side 1 label has a few interesting creases as it was applied at the Decca plant.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG. Original Capitol olive green inner sleeve is present.  All three sides have small seam splits and inch or two long.  Has the West Coast thumb tab.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: 6. Packaging must have been supplied to the Decca plant by the Los Angeles plant.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

Note:  All LP’s ship outside of their album covers in order not to damage the covers during shipment.

CAUTION!  There has been a startling increase in bidders canceling their bids.  A word to the wise, I have started blocking any and all bidders who retract their bids regardless of the reason.

Please don’t bid unless you’re willing to honor your amount, okay? Thanks!

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
