READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. Please don’t bid if this is a problem for you.

I recently took in a large collection of Beatles albums, which range in condition from a nice VG to EX.  They feature labels from first pressing Capitol to Apple through to the purple Capitol label.  I tossed out all the garbage, and will be selling these copies interspersed with my regular inventory for anyone who would like to have great play-copies, but who generally can’t afford the rarer variations for sale.

The vinyl is collectable on these, although the covers may be a bit dirty, and/or split.  Here’s one that’s a great, solid play copy, as well as a nice collectable.

Cover has some wear, but the vinyl is still mostly new.  90% original gloss!

Vinyl--- VG+/VG++.  Just a few light scratches in a sea of glass on both sides. 

Plates--- Dead wax has several Vee Jay hallmarks, including the “Audio Matrix” machine-stamp, the hand-etched delta preceding the job number, the hand-etched “URJ” initials, the hand-etched date, 1-18-64 and the “MR” in a circle, which is present, but scratched out on both sides.  I guess Monarch changed their minds on this pressing.

Cover--- VG.  Structurally solid cover.  Front cover is purple, as opposed to the black cover of the fake copies.  Front has moderate to heavy ringwear.  Back cover has moderate dirtwear.  All seams have moderate wear, spine has perfectly legible, sharp text, rather than no text, like the fakes.  NO SPLIT SEAMS.

Labels--- VG/VG+.  A few spindle marks per side, otherwise, these are pretty good all-black Vee Jay labels.

Inner Sleeve--- VG.  Generic white inner sleeve with no die-cut hole for the labels to show is present.  Light yellowing, lightly wrinkled, small tears at the top lip, but NO SEAM SPLITS.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
